1 - Jude defends the faith from false teachers who pervert the grace of God into sensuality and deny our only Master. Do not presume authority and blaspheme the glorious ones. The Lord will execute judgment on them. Worldly people cause divisions, but you build your faith, pray, and snatch doubters out of the fire. Glory, majesty, dominion, and authority are God's.
Jude writes to those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ and wishes mercy, peace, and love to be multiplied to them.
Jude was eager to write about our common salvation but found it necessary to defend the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints, since ungodly people creep in and pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Remember, Jesus saved a people out of the land of Egypt but also destroyed those who did not believe. Angels who did not stay within their own position of authority are kept in eternal chains until judgment day. Sodom and Gomorrah serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Those who crept in rely on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. When archangel Michael contended with the devil over Moses' body, he did not pronounce a blasphemous judgment but said, "The Lord rebuke you." But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they understand instinctively. They walk in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam's error and perished in Korah's rebellion. They are shepherds feeding themselves, fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead and uprooted, wild waves.
Enoch, 7th from Adam, prophesied of them, saying the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones to execute judgment on all and convict the ungodly of their deeds and words against Him: grumblers, malcontents, followers of their own sinful desires, boasters, and showers of favoritism to gain advantage.
Remember that in the last time, there will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions. Worldly people cause divisions and are devoid of the Spirit, but you build yourself up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit, keeping yourself in the love of God and waiting for the Lord Jesus Christ's mercy that leads to eternal life. Have mercy on those who doubt, snatching them out of the fire. To others, show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.
To Him who can keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
